Operational costs

When designing the sewer system, great emphasis is placed not only on the acquisition costs, but mainly on operating costs. The one-time investment is covered and next are regular expenses in the form of costs. The operational costs vary according to the sewer system type. The benefits of PRESSKAN® sewerage system operation are the sealed system, high speed of sewage transport to the WWTP and low investment costs.

There are no problems with pipeline flushing, extermination and maintenance of inspection stations as in gravity sewerage. Unlike vacuum sewerage, it has low energy consumption and it is not necessary to check the system regularly. The advantage over other sewerage systems is the elimination of flushing, venting and sludge elements in the network and the elimination of street closures and their maintenance

The operational costs can be divided as follows:

Economical:

  • energy requirements of the lift stations
    • Sewerage: paid by the property owner, less than 0.5 kW / m3
    • Pressure sewer network: : without energy costs
  • Cost of regular maintenance
    • lift stations: maintenance-free, unattended (it’s recommended to spray the equipment with water once or twice a year)
    • pressure sewer systems: maintenance-free
    • within warranty are paid by the supplier maintenance costs
    • Post-warranty:
      • Based on a service contract with PR system, a.s. according to the price list of the company, servicing provided within 24 hours, it’s possible to train your own service technician – elimination of transportation costs from the company to the user.
  • Spare parts and their delivery costs
    • the low price of spare parts results from the fact that the company is also a manufacturer of the equipment.
    • Repair of pumping equipment: low price, repair is carried out by the company as a manufacturer.

In addition to the economic costs of the sewerage system, there are costs in the form of labor and the overall complexity of operating the sewerage network.

Difficulty of operation:

  • Difficulty of operation: unattended operation, control of signaling of operation and compliance with operating rules
  • Difficulty of lift station maintenance:
    • maintenance-free, we recommend occasional spraying of equipment with water, for stations placed on the public property, maintenance twice a year is recommended depending on the operational impurity of the pressure
    • sewer network: maintenance-free.

Energy requirements of the lift station

  • Energy requirements of the pump: less than 0.5 kW / m3
  • Preventive maintenance of home lift station – it’s recommended to occasionally spray the pump by the owner (approx. 1-2 times a year)
  • Preventive maintenance of public lift station, placed on a public property – it’s recommended to spray the pump with water or clean up the sump (2 times a year) depending on the operational impurities.

The costs of preventive maintenance of the public sump range between 300 – 500 CZK per year

Difficulty of operation and maintenance costs of the pressure sewer network.

  • The pressure sewer network has a guaranteed self-cleaning function. The network is maintenance-free.

PRESSKAN® pressure sewer service cost calculation

  1. Servicing within warranty is covered by the technology supplier.
  2. Post-warranty servicing:
    • Fund for repairs of calculated material costs 300 CZK / rok
    • Reserve fund for technical park renewal: 600 CZK / rok

Note:
  • Lifetime of the hydraulic component of the pump, in standard operation and in compliance with the operating rules, it’s statistically around 8 years. Repair or refurbishment of hydraulics.  – 1500 CZK.
  • Average statistical time of detection and the defect elimination is 45 minutes
